The United Party for National Development on the copper belt would like to denounce in the strongest possible manner the way in which the Patriotic front government has been applying the public order act selectively.
We are aware that the PF has found pleasure in the public order act to deny the opposition parties from holding rallies in this country .It has became a trend by this government to deny the opposition chance to interact with the people of Zambia.
With the Patriotic Front(PF) starting its second year in government, it is surprising that the confusion that has characterized its government has continued. This confusion has manifested itself in the unwarranted attack on United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema by a civil servant, In’utu Suba, Permanent Secretary Special Duties at Cabinet Office.
Ms Suba, who is a senior civil servant is quoted in the Post Newspaper of 21st October, 2012, as claiming that Mr Hichilema will boycott Independence Day Celebrations this week, for selfish reasons. According to Ms Suba, these celebrations are a national event and invitations were sent to all political party leaders.
